Why is Christianity so Pacifistic?

This has always bugged me. It is the love your enemies attitude why I prefer a religion that accepts violence in the world and know it can not be stopped. The crusades a lovely version of christian pacifism. When Jesus came down he was a lame of God but when he comes back he is a lion. Why not this http://i.xanga.com/TheVoice/JESUS%20THE%... rather then this http://www.utilitarianism.com/jesus-chri... A more fight evil Jesus rather then a kind of hippy like Jesus.

Why is Christianity so Pacifistic?
Sarcasm is your friend.
Reply:Go ahead, just change him into what you want him to be.
Reply:Jesus preached pacifism. But the Christian church, through St augustine and st thomas aquinas came up with the theory of Just War (which was added to by the UN), there are 7 conditions of a Just War which have to be satisfied for it to be acceptable to Christians. The Just War theory came about in response to the fact that sometimes it's a greater evil to do nothing. "Evil reigns when good people do nothing" - the second world war is a perfect example
Reply:Uuuuhhhh... Although Jesus and his teachings may have been pacifistic, Christianity has never been. Jesus wasn't the lame of God, he was the lamb of God. Nice Freudian slip though. And how can you reference a painting, as proof that Jesus was, is, or ever vwill be a warrior on horseback? Your other link didn't work by the way.
Reply:..."LET THE GAMES BEGIN!!!"...
Reply:part of Christianity's longevity is that authority figures have used it both ways: pacify/control the masses, but also motivate them to war/atrocities when that's the convenient route.
Reply:"Onward Christian soldiers, marching off to war..."

Yeah, hyper-pacifism...
Reply:It's not - or it is, depending on which person is interpreting it. Most religions are Rorschach tests, they tell you more about the interpreter than about the shapeless blob.
Reply:They allowed their "Lord", their leader, to be taken and tortured and killed without a hint of dissent, much less battle.

THAT answer your Question???

C-Ya!
Reply:well, to correct you a little Pacifism is the opposition to war or violence as a means of settling disputes. Pacifism covers a spectrum of views ranging from the belief that international disputes can and should be peacefully resolved, to absolute opposition to the use of violence, or even force, under any circumstances. But christianity does call us to be corageuous in our faith and to not live sitting down. but to submit to god's loving authority.

Overall, this is what we call a paradox where God is both a loving god, but a just god the same. He is one in the same and he asks us to seek to be like-minded: both gentle and quick in love, but just to our fellow man
Reply:Not all.
