What are some free websites?

I would like to build a free website. I want it to be free. NO CHARGES, or asking 4 Credit cards, or address please. :).

I also want a free domain name, and no sites like geocites.com, xanga, myspace, or anything like that. I want it to work and be free, including my domain. THANKS!!! :)

What are some free websites?
Free domains are not really possible since it costs money to register a domain. If you are willing to pay a nominal fee then http://www.godaddy.com would be your best option.

There are a couple of alternatives though, if you don't mind advertisement on your site Microsoft Office Live Basics offers a free domain http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/office... The only catch is that it will include their logo and link to their service on your site. They are hoping to snag a large share of the market by offering a free domain, hosting and 500MB of storage. It will require a credit card to verify your age.

You can also visit http://www.dot.tk/ and register a free domain but it will end in .tk rather than .com.

You could also try a free Web hosting site like http://www.freewebs.com and then use http://www.freedomain.co.nr/ to get a free sub domain. It will redirect the URL to your site without a long difficult Web address.

Setting up a free Web site is very easy and if you want to do it for free just go to http://www.freewebs.com

If you have specific requirements (e.g. your own domain) then there are a few things you will need to do to prepare to build your site.

You should learn HTML and you can for free at http://www.w3schools.com/

You will also need an HTML editor, Adobe Dreamweaver is the best and comes with a 30 day trial.

The best free one is NVU.

Then you need to find a host, I have several of the most popular free hosts listed below. If you need your own domain and you are willing to pay a nominal fee then http://www.godaddy.com would be your best option.
Reply:If you know who will give them out for free let me know.

As the last post said registration fees are required.

Godaddy is the cheapest at 8.99 for the year

BUT then you have to have hosting

I use

at 1 dollar a month

So your total would be 21.00 for a year.

That is about as close to free as I have come.

Sorry

Reply:You're talking about different kinds of websites...

Geocities is a freeserver.

Xanga is a blog site.

Myspace is a social networking site.

You have to buy your own domain name. Don't try looking for something that doesn't exist.Your best choice if you can not buy a domain name is to just settle on a freeserver like Geocities. If you don't want to work on a freeserver, then don't have a website at all.
