Is it possible for me to set up and have hosted, my own blogging site?

what i mean is, i want to make a site like xanga or myspace. i know its not at all easy but is it possible and if so, how can i do it. i would appreciate any help possible. thanx!

Yes, it is possible. You just need a registered domain name, a web server, and the blogging software.





Install Linux onto your server (as most Linux distros come with Apache, MySQL, PHP and all the tools you'll need to run a blogging server). Install the blogging software of your choice. Set the A records for your domain name to point to your newly setup website, and you're away!

because first of all i highly doubt that he has purchased his own server with adequate bandwidth.


Try buying a domain and having a company hosting it. Id recconmend free domains for starting until you get serious and want to purchase a top level domain. Search Free domains in google.

But if you really want to be a "hardcore" web developer just write your own blogging software. But you still need a domain name and a server.
