What is going on with this torrent thing? seeding?

so i downloaded µTorrent 1.7.2 las tnight. and then i downloaded a video. it says its 100% downloaded and it was seeding. and know i just dont know whats goin on! is it done? is it still seeding? idk! please help. heres a pic of what it looks like right now....

Reply:A .torrent file is a file that contains the basic information about a file or set of files. This includes the file names, sizes, the date created and some other information. The torrent file also contains an info hash - which is basically just a unique code for that torrent. No other set of file(s) will have the same info hash as this one. The final thing contained inside the torrent is a list of trackers.





A tracker is a computer on the Internet. The tracker's role is to manage live torrent files and keep track of statistics. When you open a torrent file in your client software, your client software contacts the tracker specific to that torrent.





The thing what it said 100% downloaded is the actual torrent file, which contains information about the video file [ which is seeded in numerous computers connected to Internet ]. Once your Torrent Software [ in your case µTorrent 1.7.2 ] opens the torrent file it contacts the tracker system [ whose information is contained inside the torrent file ] to recieve information about which all systems [ SEEDERS ] contains the seeds [ parts of the video file you are downloading ] and starts downloading parts of the file from these seeders.





So its like a file is distributed in various system across the world in bits %26amp; bytes, with all the ifnormation about these seeders maintained in a TRACKER. The torrent software contacts these TRACKERS and starts downloading these distributed seeds as per the information recieved from the TRACKER.
